Brynn Avery: Part 2, the moments

This beautiful lavender bow is a unifying accessory through many of Brynn's photos. This image uses a very shallow depth of field to draw your eye to Brynn's head and to softly show Holly in the background. I love the glow of her ring and bracelet in this image.

The first few days after the birth of a child are filled with busy days and long, semi-sleepless nights. Much of that time can be a blur of activity. I am so grateful that Holly and Bryan allowed me to share a few of these moments following Brynn's birth with them.

We planned one session for Brynn, but ended up doing two to get all the shots and poses that Holly had envisioned for the session. We photographed the first time at their home. This allowed us to capture photos with the whole family and to get details of the nursery.

The family chose the same outfits from their maternity session for this first photo shoot for a cohesive look. This will make for perfect symmetry in an album.

During newborn sessions the flow of the day is always guided by baby with lots of pauses to feed and take care of basic needs. During some of those moments I focus my camera on other things going on in the house.

We used the spare bedroom and the soft north-facing light from it's big picture window to grab some candid moments between the boys and their new sister.

This image was inspired by a similar pose that Holly found on Pinterest. We made it more personal by posing the kids in the entryway of the house.

I love the expressions on both Holly and Brynn's faces in this image.
